Our review

Talkie is MiniMax's AI companion app: chat by text or voice with user-created AI characters across anime, fantasy, romance and more, with a memory system and card-collecting community. It became one of the most-downloaded AI companion apps in the US, second only to Character.AI, powered by MiniMax's own multimodal models — voice and character multimedia are more polished than most rivals.

It's free to start, with membership unlocking higher limits and extra features. Compared with Character.AI's immersive text interaction, Talkie stands out on 'voice + character multimedia', suiting users who want livelier companions.
